UWC ISAK Japan Grade 10 Program

Grade 10 (Pre-IB) Program Overview

UWC ISAK Japan offers a Grade 10 (Pre-IB) program for students from Japan and around the world. Each year, our Admissions Team at UWC ISAK Japan selects and admits 40 exceptional students (12 Japanese students and 28 non-Japanese students) for our Grade 10 cohort. The students who join our Pre-IB program automatically move up to our IBDP program without needing to re-apply. They are guaranteed three years at UWC ISAK Japan.

Selection

Grade 10 (Pre-IB) students apply to and are selected by UWC ISAK Japan. We do not accept nominations of students from UWC national committees, although NCs are welcome to encourage students to apply, and/or let us know about potential candidates.

Eligibility

Students must meet the following criteria in order to be eligible for our Pre-IB program for 2019 entry:

The student is not old enough to apply to your national committee. (However, we will make exceptions if the student meets our date of birth requirements listed below and the NC supports the application to UWC ISAK Japan.)
The student is currently enrolled in the equivalent of US Grade 9 / Japanese middle school Grade 3 and will have completed this grade by August 2019.
The student was born between January 1, 2003 - December 31, 2004.

Application Details

Information about our application process and deadlines can be found on the Apply for Grade 10 page of our website. The application deadline for international students for 2019 entry is January 22, 2019.

For Students Who Have Completed the NC Screening Process

We will accept applications through January 31, 2019. The student will need to complete the UWC ISAK Japan online application, even if the student has already completed the NC application. The NC is welcome to submit a letter of recommendation by email on behalf of the student.
